Multi-platinum entertainer Sara Evans will take the stage at the Lindenwood Theater in the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. One of country radio’s most-played female artists of the last two decades, Evans will bring her timeless, high-energy storytelling to the opening night of the 2025-26 Scheidegger Touring Series.
For more than two decades, Evans has mesmerized audiences around the world, continuing to perform more than 70 shows each year. A Missouri native, Evans grew up just two hours from Lindenwood’s campus. She first topped the Billboard charts in 1998 and has since done so four more times. Alongside her chart-topping hits, Evans has earned numerous accolades, including the Academy of Country Music’s Top Female Vocalist award, as well as honors from the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards, CMT Music Awards, and multiple Grammy nominations. She also boasts three platinum albums, including her 2000 release Born to Fly, which was certified double platinum.
Evans has remained active off the stage as well. This year, she launched her podcast Diving in Deep, featuring a wide array of guests including Crystal Gayle, Bill Anderson, Martina McBride, and Ernest. She has also been widely recognized for her philanthropic efforts. In 2018, she received the NAB Education Foundation’s Service to America Leadership Award. A Red Cross ambassador, Evans was honored with the national Crystal Cross Award for her disaster-relief work and has helped raise funds for the CMA Foundation. Evans is also a longtime supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
